What we do

Electric Fence Pretoria helps people who need work on an electric fence, or a certificate for one, find an independent installer who covers their suburb and does that kind of work. That might be a new wall-top fence for a family home in Moreleta Park, a repair after a storm in Montana, a replacement energizer in Villieria, a certificate before a sale in Waterkloof, or a perimeter for a complex in Centurion.

You send us your suburb, a short description of the boundary and what you need, and how to reach you. We pass the enquiry to a suitable installer. The installer contacts you, visits where needed and quotes you directly. If you accept, your agreement for the work is with the installer.

What we are not

We are not an electric fence installer, an alarm company or an armed response service. We do not install, repair, test or certify electric fences. We do not hold an Electric Fence System Installer registration and we do not issue the Electric Fence System Certificate of Compliance. Only a registered Electric Fence System Installer may install an electric fence or issue its certificate.

We do not set installers' prices and we do not warrant their work. The installer is responsible for the quality of the work, any warranty they offer, the certificate they issue and compliance with the rules that apply. We say this plainly on every page, because you should know who you are dealing with before you share your details or accept a quote.

Check registration before work starts

Whoever you use, ask for proof of their Electric Fence System Installer registration with the Department of Labour before any work starts. When the work is finished, make sure the certificate you receive is the Electric Fence System Certificate of Compliance, that it names the installer and your property, and that you keep it with your house papers. You will need it again if you sell. Enquiries are meant to go only to registered installers. [CONFIRM: installer EFSI registration evidence - plan section 8.2]

What we publish, and what we do not

Our pages explain electric fence choices and Pretoria conditions in plain language, so that you can describe the job well and compare quotes. We write about the factors that move a quote rather than prices, because installers set their own prices and we will not publish figures that an installer has not confirmed in writing.

For the same reason, we do not publish ratings, review scores, years of experience, registration numbers or response times that we cannot stand behind. Where we describe the rules for electric fences, we use published sources and link to them. If a fact is not confirmed, we leave it out.

How installers are chosen

We pass enquiries to installers who cover the suburb concerned and who do the type of work requested. [CONFIRM: installer selection criteria, the number of installers an enquiry may go to, and how installers are matched to areas]

If we do not have an installer who covers your suburb or the job you need, we will tell you rather than pass your details on regardless.
